Making a New Old Friend.

The streets of Ponyville were silent other then for the soft echo of metal striking the dirt. A large brown stallion was the source of the noise as he trotted down the street. It was still dark out but the sun would be rising at any moment. The alicorn paused as he gazed at the sky, watching the sky slowly come to life as the moon started to take it daily rest. The alicorn let out a small growl as he watched the sun slowly rise; thinking about the mare that was rising it. "Celestia..." The alicorn prince turned his head away from the sun with a sad sigh; thinking about his dear friend who should of been the one rising it. He ruffled his dark brown wings that were hidden under his bronze-colored robe so he looked only like a tall unicorn. Green lines raced down the robe; they glowed...no...they pulsed in time with Avan's heartbeat and they seem to move as if alive. It was thanks to the magic enchantment that Avan had placed on it when he had gotten it many years ago from some Zebra Shamans during his travels. He sighed as he gazed around Ponyville. It was time for ponies to start waking up; which means he would most likely run into one soon...Perhaps one that could help him on his quest.

I'm late!

A brown stallion raced through the streets of his beloved Ponyville, his hoofsteps echoing through the empty streets.
"I can't believe I slept in! Now ponies won't have their delicious sweets until late!" Coco exclaimed. It was very early in the morning that Chocolate Explosion went to work. He always came in to make the limited amount of chocolate cream puffs, that took quiet a while to make. But due to the extra sleep he took, ponies would have to wait a couple more hours before getting those addictive cream puffs.

When he wasn't paying attention, Coco knocked into something quiet large, sending him backwards. He caught glance of some brown hoofs, so stood and backed up.

"I'm sorr-" he began. Coco Boom backed up even more, craning his neck to look at the pony's head. Usually he had to look down slightly to look them in the eye. A unicorn? I've never seen him here before... he thought, looking at the stallion's horn.

"Sorry. I'm Chocolate Explosion, you must be new here, huh?" he asked, flexing his wings.

When he thought was going to meet a pony; he didn't expect it so soon. He stumbled backwards as Coco rammed into him. He glanced at the smaller pony with a small smile. "It's fine. Th..Er...You would be correct." He sighed, shaking his head. He really should of spent more time around ponies during his travels; he wasn't used to the new way of speaking...Perhaps he and Luna would have that in common after those 1000 years of being trapped. "My name is Avan." He ruffled his hidden wings as the pulse of his robe started to move a bit faster with his heartbeat. He almost felt like he knew this pony...but no, he didn't know anypony named Chocolate Explosion. "I'm here looking for th-I mean, my friend. We haven't seen each other for a long time and I think he might be here."

Coco was stuck looking at the pony's horn for a moment. It did seem longer than a normal unicorn's horn. Once he realized how rude it must have looked, he looked at the stallion's eye. Something stirred inside him. This feeling was familiar.

As he expected, the stallion's head started throbbing with pain. Ignoring it to the best of his ability, he replied to the brown pony's statement, with occasional winces.

"Nice to meet you, Avan. If you're looking for your friend, than I know just the pony to ask about him." the pegasus spoke, stretching his wings out. He beckoned for the unicorn to follow him as he began trotting towards Sugarcube Corner.

At least I have an excuse for being late now! Chocolate thought cheerfully.

Avan paused; but soon started to follow Chocolate Explosion. He had noticed that the pegasus had noticed how long his horn was; but it didn't really bother the Alicorn; he was used to it. "So; were are we going?"

Chocolate Explosion froze for a moment.

"Umm... well, kinda my... work..." he admitted. He turned around swiftly and looked straight at the unicorn with a serious expression.

"I know this is out of the blue, but can you be my friend? I mean, say you're my friend, and you're visiting so I don't get in trouble for being late. The pony that's in charge, Pinkie Pie, will completely forgive me if it's for a friend!" he chirped, his head throbbing more and more as he continued eye contact with the stallion.

Avan froze; staring at the young pegasus. He wanted...to be friends with him already? Er...at least say they were friends. He frowned but nodded; clearly a bit confused. "Er, sure, thy can do that...You said Pinkie Pie, right? As in the Element of...Element of Laughter!" he grinned as he remembered the name of the Element. Yes...it had been the one of the two Elements Sol had held wasn't it...He was sure he would like Pinkie Pie then.
